Jeffrey Mirel (President) - Jeffrey Mirel is the founder of Albany Barn. Mr. Mirel is also the Director of Accounts and Marketing for Tech Valley Communications, a successful regional telecommunications company located in downtown Albany. Mr. Mirel has a diverse marketing and development background spanning the industrial/OEM, arts-and-entertainment and Non-Profit sectors with emphasis on product/service innovation. Prior to joining TVC in August 2007, he was the Corporate Development Officer at the Albany Institute of History & Art. Mr. Mirel serves on the City of Albany Comprehensive Plan Board, Arbor Hill Implementation Team, and Albany County District Attorney's Community Accountability Board. Mr. Mirel has been recognized as an Albany Business Review's 2010 "40 Under Forty" honoree, one of the Albany Times Union's 2009 "Dozen Who Make a Difference" and a Metroland Newsweekly's "Local Hero." Mr. Mirel is a BSBA graduate of Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business (cum laude) and member of the national Georgetown Entertainment & Media Alliance (GEMA).

Edwin Anker (Secretary / Facilities Team) - Ed Anker is a licensed architect in the State of New York and is currently a Senior Associate at CSArch. For the past 11 years, he has been involved in the design and construction of numerous educational facilities, housing projects, YMCA facilities, and community planning projects. Mr. Anker is also actively involved in the creation and implementation of high performance and sustainable design practices at CSArch. He serves as an Executive Board Member and Secretary of the American Institute of Architects Eastern New York Chapter, member of the Capital District YMCA Facilities Committee, and Facilities Committee Chair on the Board of Managers for the Albany YMCA. Mr. Anker is a founding member of Albany Barn.

Louis Apicello (Director, Events Team) - Louis Apicello manages the B3nson Recording Company and is a member of the Albany based musical group, Sgt Dunbar & the Hobo Banned. Since moving to Albany in 2009, Mr. Apicello has persisted in growing the Albany-area arts community and attracting national musical acts/audiences through B3nson, including co-directing the first ever Restoration Festival in Summer 2010 at the historic St. Joseph's Church. Mr. Apicello has served Albany Barn as a Director since 2010.

Marcie Bergan (Director, Events Team) - Marcie Bergan is the Director of Operations at the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District. Ms. Bergan has extensive and diverse experience in the Operations and Administrative fields, including roles as the Operations Manager at Equinox, Inc and Human Resources Director for the Albany Institute of History & Art, where she worked on the building expansion and collection storage project. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the BID's Clean Team and visual improvements, Ms. Bergan is also responsible for larger quality of life projects including the "Sculpture in the Streets" exhibition, walking tour and Garden Party, "Responsible Hospitality," "1st Fridays," a downtown farmers market and Earth Day celebration. Mrs. Bergan joined Albany Barn as a Director in 2011.

William Berglund, Esq. (Director, Operations Team) - William Berglund is an attorney with the Albany based law firm, O'Connell and Aronowitz, P.C. His practice areas include Matrimonial and Family Law, Residential and Commercial Real Estate, Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigations. He is a member of the American, New York State, and Albany County Bar Associations; the Family Law and Young Lawyers sections of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Berglund is also a member of the Capital District Business Leaders, and was selected to the board of the Capital District Bankruptcy Bar Association. Mr. Berglund is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and a cum laude graduate of Albany Law School, where he was an associate editor of the School's Journal of Science and Technology. He is a founding member of Albany Barn.

Jamison Flora, Treasurer / Operations Team) - Jamison Flora is a Business Banking Relationship Manager at Key Bank, and previously Business Banking Officer at Citizens Bank. Mr. Flora is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and alum of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce's "Leadership Tech Valley." Mr. Flora joined Albany Barn as a Director in 2011.

Marcus Ferguson, Esq. (Director, Outreach Team) - Marcus Ferguson is Director of Government Affairs for the Business Council of New York State, Inc, where he manages environment / OSH and telecommunications issues for Business Council members. He most recently spent seven years (2001-2008) as Assistant Counsel to the Majority Leader in the New York State Senate. While Assistant Counsel, Mr. Ferguson provided legal assessment and analysis to the members and senior staff of the Senate on legislative issues involving tax and revenue, consumer protection, human rights and privacy. He also represented the state Senate on the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, which planned the redevelopment of lower Manhattan after September 11th. Mr. Ferguson is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and New York's Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2002. Mr. Ferguson has served Albany Barn as a Director since 2009.

Joanne-Gambino-Morehouse

Joanne Gambino-Morehouse (Director, Events & Programming Team) - Joanne Gambino-Morehouse has been at St. Catherine's Center for Children since 2008 as the Director of Development with the Foundation for St. Catherine's, where she has doubled the number of donors and tripled the number of donor gifts and is spearheading the creation of the agency's first formal volunteer coordination program. Prior to St. Catherine's, Ms. Gambino-Morehouse served as a development officer at Camphill Village and Major Gifts Associate for the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York (ARCNENY). She helped charter the Mohawk Hudson Chapter of the American Association for Grant Professionals and is an Advisory Board member of The Stakeholders Inc. Ms. Gambino-Morehouse graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in English from Dowling College. She is an Arbor Hill homeowner and joined Albany Barn as a Director in 2011.

Kristen Holler (Director, Operations Team) - Kristen Holler, a native of the Capital Region, has worked with Albany Barn in various capacities since 2006. She is currently a Program Supervisor for Schenectady County ARC. She was formerly employed at Bethesda House of Schenectady as a Case Manager. Since 2001, Ms. Holler in the theatrical costuming industry with The Costumer, Inc. Ms. Holler received a B.S. in Community and Human Services from Empire State College.

Jon Huther (Director, Marketing Team) -Jon Huther is the President and founder of Elite Venture Media and has been involved with web design and development including graphic design for the past 10 years. His client list includes The Palace Theater, WNYT, Saratoga Gaming & Raceway, The College of Saint Rose, and The New York State Senate. Mr. Huther joined Albany Barn as a Director in 2011.

Tony Iadicicco (Director, Events & Programming Team) - Tony Iadicicco is the Creative Director at Albany Center Galleries and an abstract expressionist oil painter. Mr. Iadicicco, a long-time Schenectady resident studied graphic design at Sage College, but he is a self-taught painter. His work organizing local arts showcases and fundraising events garnered him the inaugural "Art Ambassador Volunteer of the Year" award from The Stakeholders Inc. Mr. Iadicicco was also named one of the Albany Institute of History & Art's "Tomorrow's Masters Today" and 518Fever.com "2010 Local Artist of The Year." Mr. Iadicicco joined Albany Barn as a Director in 2011.

Lara

Lara Kassel (Director, Outreach Team) - Lara Kassel is the Coordinator of Medicaid Matters New York (MMNY) and organizes all activities of MMNY, a statewide coalition of over 130 organizations representing the interests of New Yorkers covered by the state's public insurance programs. In her role as Coordinator, Ms. Kassel sat on Governor Paterson's Health Care Reform Advisory Committee and is currently a member of Governor Cuomo's Medicaid Redesign Team. Prior to joining MMNY, she served as legislative staff to Assembly Health Committee Chair Richard Gottfried for nearly seven years, working on a wide range of health issues. Ms. Kassel sits on the Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood Board of Directors, as well as the Young Leaders Advisory Board of Family Planning Advocates of New York State. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from SUNY Geneseo. Ms. Kassel has served Albany Barn as a Director since 2006.


Alexander Muro (Director, Marketing Team) - Alexander Muro is a founder of the B3nson Recording Company, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who performs with numerous notable Albany-based musical groups, including Sgt Dunbar & the Hobo Banned, We are Jeneric, and Beware! the Other Head of Science. Mr. Muro is also a research assistant at the University of Albany. Mr. Muro has served Albany Barn as a Director since 2010.

Joshua Poupore (Director, Marketing Team) -Joshua Poupore is the Assistant Executive Director of the New York State Dental Association, a 13,000 member professional association representing dentists across the state. Previously, he was the Communications Officer for the Capitalize Albany Corporation, a not-for-profit economic development agency in the City of Albany, and spent seven years as a public information officer at Harvard University managing communications efforts for the Harvard Office for Sustainability, Development and Planning, as well as Government, Community and Public Affairs. Mr. Poupore holds a master's degree in journalism from Harvard University and a bachelor's degree in English from Elmira College. Mr. Poupore has served Albany Barn as a Director since 2010.

Todd Ritschdorff, Esq. (Director / Events and Programming Team) - Mr. Ritschdorff is an Associate Attorney with the law firm of Phillips Lytle LLP in the firm's litigation practice group. Mr. Ritschdorff concentrates his practice in bankruptcy and creditors' rights, including workouts and reorganizations, and commercial litigation. Mr. Ritschdorff is a member of the American, New York State, and Albany County Bar Associations, and the Young Lawyers section of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Ritschdorff is also a member of the Capital Region Bankruptcy Bar Association and sits on the Capital District Women's Bar Association Judicial Task Force Committee. Mr. Ritschdorff has served Albany Barn as a Director since 2009.

Craig Shufelt, (Director / Events & Programming Team) - Craig Shufelt is President of marketing and media firm, The Shufelt Group. Mr Shufelt graduated from RIT in 1996, Sage College of Albany in 1994, and has an extensive background in graphic design. Mr. Shufelt is also an active art photographer and abstract woodworker; his work has been exhibited at Capital Region coffeehouses, venues and festivals. Mr. Shufelt joined Albany Barn as a Director in 2011.

James Thomas (Director / Operations Team) - James Thomas is a sole proprietor tax advisor servicing a clientele of 550 individuals and small businesses. Mr. Thomas was Chairman of Board of Directors of Cap COM Financial Services, which now manages in excess of $300,000,000 in investments for clients, and also sits on the Board of Directors of Capital Communications Federal Credit Union. Mr. Thomas has an extensive non-profit finance background, and regularly assists and/or represents non-profits in their start-up and obtainment of 501(c) (3) status. Mr. Thomas has served Albany Barn as a Director since 2009.

Arlene Way, Director / Marketing Team - Arlene Way is the Executive Director of the Arbor Hill Development Corporation (AHDC), a community-based not-for-profit organization founded in 1981 to promote neighborhood revitalization through individual grants and technical assistance. Ms. Way is president of the Arbor Hill Neighborhood Association and a member of the City of Albany Comprehensive Plan Board. Ms. Way joined Albany Barn as a Director in 2011.
